Cirque of Salazie Salazie - Reception and information
Salazie is the largest and greenest of the three cirques with waterfall after waterfall! The village of Hell-Bourg, with its pretty Creole houses and flower-filled gardens, is perched high up on one of the cirque's many "îlets" or small plateaus. Salazie Inter-Communal Tourist Office, located in the small art and crafts square (place artisanale) in Hell-Bourg - classified as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France" - is an information and reception centre.
It is also an information post for La Réunion National Park. It hosts a variety of exhibitions on La Réunion and is located in the artisans square in Hell-Bourg, a Creole Village listed as one of Frances Most Beautiful Villages. Salazie is the largest and greenest of the three cirques, with waterfalls in cascades! Perched on one of the cirques many ilets, the village of Hell-Bourgs delightful Creole huts stand side by side at the bottoms of their flower-filled gardens. The internet is free Open Monday to Saturday from 8.30 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
From Roland Garros Airport, take the expressway to Saint-André, and turn off at the Salazie exit. Carry on along the RD 48 until you get to Hell-Bourg and drive down the main street (Rue Général de Gaulle) to the artisans square, where the Tourist Centre is located.
